Lt Gov. Dan Forest joined nearly 400 conservative pastors and ministry leaders from across the Southeastern United States at the American Renewal Conference in Charlotte Thursday afternoon in standing for Christian morality. He said “just ten years ago America was vastly different.”
Forest referred to the rapid increase in incidences of “gender fluidity” issues, bathroom confusion, transgender, and more. These issues have suddenly become the aberrations that impact our culture. “Our youth are taught socialism in schools, and that the truth is not relative.” He later said “All our institutions are under attack.”
He remarked further that “government and socialists expect us to bow down, but we cannot do that.” He said it is absolutely important that we “engage our culture.”
By speaking out against the moral ills of our society, he said the newspaper will probably say “haters” met in Charlotte. He continued that “media must be held to account when they speak wrong.”
He emphasized that there will be some who “want to discourage Gods people by calling us names: haters, racist, nazis, supremacists, etc.” This is the same thing that Goliath did to David when he called him names.
Forest said, “troubled times have come throughout the ages.” Now “is not the time to run and hide, but stand up and be heard.” He then rallied the crowd when he said “It is time to rebuild the walls of our country as Nehemiah did, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices being transformed by God to rebuild the walls of our family, of the church, of our culture, and of our country.”
“Nehemiah asked the king to ‘send me to Judah that I may rebuild.’ “That was not spiritual, it was political.” – NC Lt. Gov. Dan Forest
The Lt. Governor said “too many Americans don’t know history or their Bible.” He continued that many pastors are concerned about “separation of church and state.” He said, “Separation of church and state is from a Thomas Jefferson letter to the Danbury Baptist Church to dispel the idea of a national church like England.”
“How can we not be troubled? What’s going to happen today when we confront these issues?”
“Politicians will not solve the problem.” The gubernatorial hopeful said, “Warriors have gathered to wage warfare against the wrong.”
