She’s called Ms. Angel, and many think she is an angel. Her name is Angel Belcher, and she started a ministry named ‘Angel Backs the Blue’ to minister to police and supply them with needed items. Indeed, Belcher has been an Angel to many in law enforcement and others in her community for over 30 years.

Belcher sells “Police Lives Matter” and “Back the Blue” bracelets to raise money for her ministry of providing needed materials and food to police officers. Those who know her say that she has dedicated her life to feeding and clothing others.

When hurricane Michael came through her hometown on the Florida panhandle in 2018, her own home was destroyed, but that didn’t stop her from continuing to serve others. In fact, the event stirred her to help more in the community because the need was even greater. She served meals, cleaned up homes, and delivered care packages to those with needs. Following the hurricane, Samaritan’s Purse rebuilt her home, and included a larger kitchen to help with food preparation.

Because of her service to others she was recognized by Florida first lady Casey DeSantis with the First Lady’s Medal for Courage, Commitment, and Service. She was also honored by President Donald Trump on Independence Day 2019, for her faithful commitment to serving people in need.

“… whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” Matthew 7:12

Belcher said in a 2018 interview that it was “not a [hurricane] Michael thing, it’s a Jesus thing.” She said “I love the Lord and I love serving the Lord. My passion is cooking, and I love helping people.” She added, “I’m still going to keep helping people. Because the God that I have within me, put me here to serve and that’s what I’m doing.”

Ms. Angel, has lived in Chipley, Florida all her life. She’s a Southern woman in the traditional mold fulfilling the scriptural mandate of loving others. She is a member of the Fifth United Holiness Church and has devoted her life to serving others. She was invited by President Trump to come on stage and speak to a crowd of evangelical voters in South Florida January of this year. On stage there Angel said “I pray for my President every day.” She also told the media that day she was going to be “praying for them to start telling the truth” about the president. “Make sure you say that which is right… I want him [Trump] to stand strong… I’m going to continue praying for my President… and continue standing for my President because my President is there for me.”
