South Carolina challenged with ‘Critical Race Theory’ creating a culture of forced racism.
The problems in our country, state and communities are a long list. I have advocated for solving these problems locally because we have a broken federal system.
Forced or coerced vaccinations, Critical Race Theory (CRT) and the like, forced masking, forced indoctrination on gender/sex and many more issues are at stake. Many “red” states have addressed these issues. South Carolina’s legislature has partially addressed some of these issues via temporary budget provisos which have an effect through June 2022.
There is a strong chance that many of these important issues will be addressed and passed when the state legislature reconvenes in the next legislative session. But why should we as citizens wait until then for politicians to make fundamentally sound decisions for the future of humanity?
State legislatures meet for a period of half of a year with tons of bills introduced. Unfortunately, although there are many great members of the legislature, many issues are not taken up or the issue is introduced far too late in the game.
Every other local government body does meet throughout the year. The elected members of these entities are also more accessible and take into consideration your concerns. Local governments set policy.
For myself, CRT and vaccinations (with masks and other COVID-19 ridiculous restrictions) are an emergency to address. School Boards will address these issues if you give it a try as an activist.
In my home school district of Lexington-Richland District Five, parents and community members became one of the first to have an onslaught of pressure to make mandatory masking of staff and students an issue and demanded a change in policy.
This was really one of the first districts in the state to make an issue out of the unscientific and bureaucratic policy. Soon after, the policy that was put in place by the subsequently ousted school board was eliminated and masks were made optional. After the district’s superintendent independently went against the board’s vote, the board again made a more specific policy prohibiting forced masking. The next day, Gov. Henry McMaster made an Executive Order unmasking public schools, State Superintendent Molly Spearman officially unmasked public schools and a few days later, The Center for Disease Control declared that people are “allowed” to go unmasked if they are fully vaccinated.
So, community activists went before a local school board and that school board understood that a change needed to be made. The school board heard their concerns and made a change. This should happen on every issue and communication should be made to local governments via in-person public meetings, email communications, phone calls and whatever mark you can make.
We the People with the constitution in hand have the power to live in a society that reflects our vision. Take action now. My main action is eliminating Critical Race Theory, which creates a culture of forced racism. I hope you will join me.
