Praying Hands, also known as Study of the Hands of an Apostle, is a pen-and-ink drawing done in 1508 by Albrecht Dürer. The work is stored at the Albertina museum in Vienna, Austria.
When trouble was all around them, men of old gathered together individually and corporately to call on the Almighty. It seems Americans have forgotten that there is a a Great God in heaven who is not only able but can and will heal our land IF we approach him and call on his name in repentance and righteousness pleading our need of his healing power on our land. The Bible makes it clear in 2 Chronicles:
…O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee? —- 2 Chronicles 20:6
Americans in earlier days were beckoned to prayer and fasting by government authorities for his hand of blessing and mercy and cleansing on the land. Are we somehow more righteous than our forefathers and above that today?
The sons and daughters of that one and only Great God in heaven have for the past years suffered because of the oppression of those who seek to capture our children and our own minds, bodies and souls.
Many of our brethren have succumbed unto the diseases and sorcery which they have warred with against us. We have mourned and been afflicted with the diseases of the Egyptians and suffered the dread of the Dragon.
Our hearts have panged when family and friends have perished at the hands of deceitful assassins coming under the guise of healer. Our minds have been assaulted by those who have perverse lips and speak not truth, while our eyes observe all they do.
…in thine hand is there not power and might… —- 2 Chronicles 20:6
Our lives are in the hands of him who controls the winds and waves, and now is the time we must seek his face in totality withholding nothing of ourselves.
In days of old in this land known as Gods ‘heavenly kingdom’ on occasion of trouble, distress, or important affairs concerning the people our fathers called for days of ‘prayer and fasting’ to gain the notice of the Almighty who rules over the affairs of man.
If we will take note of this chapter of 2 Chronicles we will see that Jehoshaphat called for prayer and fasting in verses 3,4, to be cleansed before the LORD and for his enemies to be vanquished.
And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD. — 2 Chronicles 20:3-4
He also reminded our King that he recognized and knew who was the power and authority and all must bow before him. He also proclaimed that the Everlasting king had instructed his people to build his house and sanctuary in the land of Israel, and that he would hear when they were in trouble and needed help, and he would hear and answer their cry.
And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court, And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee? Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever? And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying, If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help. — 2 Chronicles 20:5-9
Jehoshaphat saw victory over his enemies because he sought after the LORD through prayer, fasting, and he ‘sacrificed’ by singing praises unto the LORD for the victory he was granting.
Pay close attention, Jehoshaphat performed a fast! A fast must include prayer and seeking the face of the LORD God Almighty! Abstaining from food only is starving yourself for a diet, a fast is not that. A fast is purifying yourself to be sanctified in body, mind and spirit through food abstinence, repentance of sin, and seeking YHWH with all your heart.
The book of Joel says at verse 1:14, “Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD…”
Isn’t this where we are today? Are not we in a place where we need the prayers of God’s people to cry unto the Great I AM to heal our people and restore our land?
Is there not a purpose and reason to again call for days of ‘prayer and fasting’ to gain the notice and help of the Almighty?
In this heavenly kingdom called America we again have the ‘groves’ where perversion takes place of ‘men with men working that which is unseemly’. We have amongst us ‘sorcerers’ stirring their pot of pharmakea full of monkey guts, human baby parts and a witches brew full with a plethora of other parts.
As a whole we have neglected to train our children up in the nurture and admonition of the LORD, but rather we have turned them over to false prophets and Moloch in Caesar’s halls of indoctrination. Our youngest have been given over in their most important formative years to surrogate mothers while their own mothers forsake their role as teacher, caretaker and trainer of the fruit of their womb that will lead our future so as to ‘wear the clothes’ of a man.
Additionally we have an invasion of ‘locusts’ invading our borders from the south, ‘scorpions’ taking over the heartland of America and ‘hornets’ flying in from across the Atlantic!
Our country, and nation, and land, and people, are in trouble—-and much closer and more near destruction than we know both within and without our borders. NOW is the time for us to turn from our sins and our ways unto the face of Almighty God and his ways.
Is there not a purpose and reason to again call for days of ‘prayer and fasting’ to gain the notice and help of the Almighty?
A Call for Prayer and Fasting in the Land
Seeing no president, governor, authority, or leader, proclaiming, beckoning or calling the people to beseech the Almighty God of heaven through prayer or fasting, I therefore call for a nationwide time of prayer and fasting for all of God’s people beginning January 2nd, 2023, at high noon. The fast can be of the length of your choosing, but a fast with prayer unto the God of the Bible for the healing and restoration of truth, integrity and righteousness in the land.
I plan to fast at the dawning of the new year. Mark it on your calendar now!
Those who are sick, infirm, diseased, uncertain, etc., Seek advice and counsel of your own health care practitioner for your unique circumstances. Often those who fast see healing in their own body.
…none is able to withstand thee… —- 2 Chronicles 20:6
NOTE: when breaking a fast, do so with fruit, raw vegetables or non sweetened juices. I suggest you Do Not break fast with processed or solid food! This is not medical advice but personal experience.
Please share this message as we request all who will beseech the Almighty to do so during the same time period. And, yes, many of us will fast and pray for a longer period of time.
A time of fasting and prayer with repentance seeking the face of Jehovah our God.
The Book of Joel says:
Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
— Joel 2:12-13
The people of Nineveh fasted and prayed to avoid destruction—-we must also.
So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. — Jonah 3:5
Jesus didn’t say IF you fast, Jesus said, WHEN you fast…
Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly. — Matthew 6:16–18
When you fast, make prayer to God when you would typically eat. Jesus fasted 40 days for you and me!
And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungered. — Matthew 4:2
Whether you fast one day or forty days, WHEN you fast, pray mightily unto the LORD: for yourself and your family, for kings and all in authority that they might obey the Almighty, and that we might not be molested by government but rather lead a peaceful life. That God would raise up mighty men to stand for truth and that Homes and marriages might be restored, Children might be nurtured in the fear and admonition of the LORD,
Communities and government might stand against wickedness, and for righteousness, Church assemblies might have faithful Godly men to pastor, preach and lead, Men would obey the Bible, and lead their community in righteousness, Evil and wickedness would be routed out of this land, and much more you can pray about.
When we ask, Art not thou God in heaven? The God of heaven will hear and answer! It’s on us to seek him with all our heart, all our soul and all our might. It’s up to the Almighty to know our heart and respond with his answer to our plea’s.
Will you fast and pray with me together starting January 2, 2023? Let me know and please comment on whether you will fast and pray, I hope you will join me. And please, pass this message along to others, the power of corporate prayer and fasting lends more strength to our pleas.
