I heard a rumor this morning Georgia is going to completely reopen its economy for business later this week.
I am planning a drive to Hartwell, Georgia, for a haircut and a meal in a Mexican restaurant I enjoy there.
They will probably keep up the silly “social distancing” nonsense so those of us who do not have the virus, will not spread it to those of you who do not have it either.
There will probably be a line out to the street to get in the restaurant if the weather is nice. In any event, I have Georgia on my mind as the song goes.
My point? South Carolina businesses are going to lose millions of dollars we will spend in Georgia if our own economic lockdown madness continues.
I have decided the inmates are running the asylum when it comes to making quarantine rules.
The idea should be to keep SICK people home and the rest of us away from the SICK people. Well people are no threat to each other and go about their business! As the saying goes, this ain’t rocket science.
In fact, it ain’t science at all! To borrow – and re-purpose – a phrase from George H. W. Bush; this is VooDoo economics!
Perhaps it will help Henry McMaster grasp that point, if I post some photos here, showing South Carolinians spending money in Georgia?
