The Democrats passed legislation that in this backwards, upside down world is misnamed “The Inflation Reduction Act.” Could that be another reason for the raid on Mar a Lago and President Trump? It’s a $750 billion monstrosity that includes one of the biggest tax hikes in history–and will supposedly “spend” us into reducing the debt and lowering inflation. Democrats say it will raise $739 billion over the next ten years, with revenues going to combat climate change, cut the prices of prescription drugs, and reduce the debt.
The bill was passed by the Senate, but has gone back to the House for a vote
Here are some of the particulars:
- Gives the IRS $80 billion to hire 87,000 new agents—armed with guns and ammunition. It makes the IRS bigger than the Pentagon, the State Department, the FBI and the Border Patrol combined.
- The bulk of the spending is on “green new deal” items but it also raises taxes on fuel.
- For example: analysts believe it could increase natural gas taxes by $6.5 billion, which translates to a 17 percent hike.
- It is being heralded as a sweeping victory for President Biden, and touted by The New York Times, CNN, Washington Post, etc.
The image above shows the areas with the least number of IRS audits, and the Republican areas in the South and Midwest that seem to be hardest hit.
This IRS “army” stockpiled 5 million rounds of ammo, according to a 2018 accountability report, and spent $725,000 on ammunition this year alone. A December 2020 report from American Transparencyhighlights how 103 executive agencies outside the Department of Defense spent $2.7 billion on guns, ammunition, and military equipment between 2006 and 2019.
Republican Senators all voted no on the legislation, and some offered amendments that would ease the pain–such as prohibiting new taxes on gasoline and diesel, nixing the hiring of new IRS agents, and protecting those who earn less than $400,000 per year. None of these amendments passed.
Why this Matters: There are 724 people in the US who are classified as billionaires. So who do we suppose these 87,000 new IRS agents will be targeting? Certainly not the ones who have enough money to hire attorneys and accountants.
The Biden administration will be sending another $1 billion weapons package for Ukraine (a total of $60B). That doesn’t include an additional $4.5 billion in direct budgetary support to President Zelensky to help alleviate the “acute budget deficit” caused by the war.
What about the acute pain Americans are feeling from skyrocketing prices?
It’s not too late to call your Representative and ask him or her to vote NO on this bill! Also, remember that the US government is notoriously slow. It will take months to hire and train new IRS agents. If Republicans take back Congress, perhaps this whole thing can be defunded through new laws.
God knows which ones belong to Him. He always makes provision for His children who love Him. All things work together for good to those who love God and walk according to the Holy Spirit.
Thank Him for providing for you! Thank Jesus for having overcome death, hell, and the grave on our behalf! Satan may be the prince of this world, but Jesus will reign and we will be there with Him. Thank God for loving His Son and giving all things into His hand!
Pray for President Trump and all those who are falsely accused.
This is a good reminder from Ezekiel that it is the Lord’s habit to mark and protect His own:
Ez. 9:3-6 – Now the glory of the God of Israel had gone up from the cherub on which it rested to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed in linen, who had the writing case at his waist.
And the LORD said to him, “Pass through the city, through Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations that are committed in it.”
And to the others he said in my hearing, “Pass through the city after him, and strike. Your eye shall not spare, and you shall show no pity. Kill old men outright, young men and maidens, little children and women, but touch no one on whom is the mark. And begin at my sanctuary.”
So they began with the elders who were before the house.
