Judge Stops “The Most Massive Attack Against Free Speech in US History”

A Federal judge has ruled against government sponsored censorship through big tech social media companies. Among those named are YouTube.

 

Huge Victory over Censorship!

In the beginning was the Word, and Satan objected. It is the most basic of human existence to be able to tell your story, share an observation, and give your opinion. As Christians, it’s our duty and glory to share the good news of God’s salvation, and shutting that down is the enemy’s foremost objective. After all, once the gospel reaches the whole earth, time’s up and the abyss awaits him.

That’s why Satan and his posse are so upset by Judge Doughty.

On Tuesday, the judgment was released reflecting Judge Doughty’s shock at the level of censorship that was practiced between the Biden administration and social media and tech companies. A lawsuit was brought by the Attorneys General of Louisiana and Missouri against top officials at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). This includes the Surgeon General, the CDC, the Covid response team, and the first-ever lesbian black Haitian-ancestored (as she always reminds us) White House Press Secretary Karin Jean-Pierre.

The judge’s preliminary injunction reflected that free speech is to be preserved by the First Amendment, which states that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting its free exercise. It protects freedom of speech, the press, assembly, and the right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Judge Doughty wrote,

“The explosion of social-media platforms has resulted in unique free speech issues—this is especially true in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. If the allegations made by Plaintiffs are true, the present case arguably involves the most massive attack against free speech in United States’ history. In their attempts to suppress alleged disinformation, the Federal Government, and particularly the Defendants named here, are alleged to have blatantly ignored the First Amendment’s right to free speech…”

The ruling continues,

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, a period perhaps best characterized by widespread doubt and uncertainty, the United States Government seems to have assumed a role similar to an Orwellian ‘Ministry of Truth’. The plaintiffs are likely to succeed on the merits in establishing that the government has used its power to silence the opposition.”

 

Each topic suppressed was a conservative view, which “is quite telling,” Doughty declared.

The lawsuit shed light on alarming allegations of speech suppression by the federal government, including Biden challenger Robert Kennedy Jr., whose YouTube videos keep getting taken down. One hundred citations were mentioned, including:

• Hunter Biden laptop story prior to the 2020 Presidential election
• Covid lab-leak theory
• The efficacy of masks, lockdowns and vaccines
• Election integrity and the security of voting by mail
• Posts making fun of Biden Administration
• Negative posts about Biden and the economy
• Personal Facebook pages and content

 

Ooh, the Left is Big Mad! They especially don’t like the FBI and Justice Department being denied the ability to shut down content that is unapproved by the deep state Washington bureaucracy.

MSNBC legal analyst Lisa Rubin said: “This is a truly astonishing ruling that will compromise the health, safety, and yes, liberty of some so others can spread false, harmful information in the name of free speech.”

CNN analyst Elie Honig called it “one of the most aggressive, far-reaching rulings you’ll ever see,” in which a judge is attempting to “micro-manage the day-to-day interactions between the entire executive branch… and the leading social media companies.” The exceptions would be matters of cyber security and national security threats.

 

Scandalous!

Doughty’s ruling, however, isn’t a final decision on the suit. The Biden administration can appeal the injunction with the New Orleans-based 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals, but considering the recent rulings by the Supreme Court, it doesn’t look promising. Those rulings, announced just last week:

• Struck down affirmative action for college entrances
• Put a stop to Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan
• Set a precedent by freeing a web designer from being forced to create a wedding website for lesbians.

 

Leftists are nearly beside themselves, claiming freedom in America, especially for minorities and the alphabet soup gang, is under attack.

Why this Matters? What a fitting way to celebrate our Independence and reflect on God’s goodness! Judge Doughty, who was appointed by President Trump and approved by all members of the Senate, including Democrats, previously blocked the Biden administration’s national vaccination mandate for health care workers. He also overturned its ban on new federal leases for oil and gas drilling.

How to Pray? Praise the Lord for His amazing goodness and mercy! Thank God for the legacy of Donald Trump in these judicial appointments. Sometimes, it’s good to just sit back and bask in God’s goodness, letting gratitude carry us forward.

Psalm 85:8-10 – I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly. Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land. Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

 

Who made it Snow at the White House?

On another note, a small bag containing a white substance was found on Sunday at the White House. Later it was identified as cocaine, but no one knows how it got there and who left it.

 

In a glorious display of irony, a video was released Wednesday showing Joe Biden and his family on the White House balcony for Independence Day celebrations. Hunter Biden is with them, and actually snorts cocaine on camera as he passes behind his father. The White House says the bag wasn’t Hunter’s and it’s unlikely we will ever find out whodunit. We can only imagine!
