Close to 300 delegates and Republican Party members were present for the special meeting called for Tuesday.

Brown also said the Committee identified “360 voters who were credentialed for the convention but had their fees paid for them”. The Republican Party rules state that to be a delegate there is a requirement to pay the fees associated with the convention in order to vote. These fees were not paid at the time of the vote in April. All prior conventions required that delegates must pay the registration fees before they could be “credentialed” as a delegate.

In fact, those unpaid delegate fees, amounting to $7200, were not paid until June. At that time the fees were paid by the SC State Republican Party. This was a clear violation of the spirit and the written rules of the Republican Party.

At least 200 delegates did not have proper contact information as required in rules. This alone disqualified potential delegates, let alone not paying registration fees. More than 200 “Form 1” registration forms, the basic information that proves residency and precinct qualifications to vote and qualify as a delegate, were redacted with totally blacked out sections. Another violation of the Party Rules.

This presented serious issues in the spring during County and State elections. One of the major contentions was that the delegate contact information was not made available to candidates running for County and Statewide Party offices as had been done in previous election years.

Brown said that the hope of the Committee was that “by being truthful and direct we could get people on board” to pull together and move on. He says the solution is to address it, deal with it and move forward, beginning the organizing process.

“The Executive Committee must now take action to make something happen,” said Brown. He continued that “they can make motions, organize, spread the message across the state… and work to make sure those bad things don’t happen again”.

When asked about the Chairman resigning, Brown, a past Chairman himself, said, “There is no provision in the rules for that to occur.” But, he said “the Chairman could choose to resign, but if she chooses not to resign she’s going to remain as Chairman.” He continued that “the body can make motions, move to censure… but that does not remove the Chairman from her post.”

The general notion is that if this has happened in the Greenville County election, among the most conservative areas of the state, other County party’s throughout the state may have suffered a similar, or the exact same, scenario with fraudulent elections. Like all elections where irregul7-6-21 Greenville County meeting – Copyarities, cheating, fraud, or the suspicion of it occurs, voters typically lose interest or leave the political process.

That does not appear to be the case in Greenville County where rank and file Party members are ‘fired up’ as was evident by last Tuesday’s meeting. In scenarios like this on a larger scale tyrants and dictators come into power by disenfranchising and removing disgruntled voters.  It looks like Greenville County has stemmed that tide.
