One of The Standard’s own writers has decided to jump in the Myrtle Beach City Council race. Stuart Behar said he has had enough and that he can’t sit on the sidelines anymore. That is one of the things that I admire about the writers for this newspaper, they are people who are Doers! They are not content to sit back and do nothing. And that is an admirable quality.
This country needs people who will stand up and declare that they are glad to be Americans and fight for the fundamental freedoms we have here and not bow to the collectivist Communist regime that is flooding into our country as we speak.
Stuart recently sent an essay to The Standard to detail some reasons why he is running as follows:
People who know me know how I feel about my country. I do not hold back how I feel, and I am very outspoken about what I believe in. As some of you know I am running for the Myrtle Beach city council. I felt it was time to stand up and say enough is enough. I am not a rich man, so running for president is out. I will do what I can instead of sitting and wringing my hands and going woe is me.
Many know I moved from California after living their all my life to escape the communist gulag it has become. I thought SC was a place that I could feel like an American again. However, what I have found is that while it is considered a red state, it is almost as blue as the state I left. The good ole boys run the state. They run it for money and power, and God help you if you get in their way.
The Myrtle Beach City Council is no different. They run the city for their own profit and power. The chamber of commerce is where they funnel millions of dollars for the purpose of dirty politics. The city pushes out small business owners so the city can buy them cheap and use the property for their own gain. Somehow they are connected to many real estate LLC’s. It’s like watching Don Corleone and his gumbas.
Many may ask why would someone my age with no millions of dollars for a war chest would want to take on the establishment. Because I truly give a damn. As I said I don’t have the money to run for congress, but I had to do something instead of just complaining. I may not win, but I will make a lot of noise.
I am very outspoken about my beliefs, and will shout them regardless of what people think of me. I am tired of seeing woke agendas indoctrinating kids and destroying the very essence of what America stands for. I was taken to task in one of my posts when I said I was glad karma bit the US soccer team in the ass. If you don’t stand for our anthem and respect our flag and those who have fought and died to keep us free, then you should not be representing America for anything. Someone commented that my stance won’t win me votes. To that person I say TOUGH! I will never back down from what I believe in, not even for votes.
It’s time to take a stand against the leftist agendas that separate us by race and sex. I can’t please everyone, and won’t try.
I want total transparency for all people elected to office, and that is how I will be. I am not a politician, and don’t want to be one. What I am is an American citizen who wants to be proud of my country and where I live.
I am running on total honesty. What I say I mean. I am tired of the city council members becoming millionaires at the taxpayer’s expense. We don’t need to keep feeding the chamber millions of our dollars to waste on who knows what.
The chamber is only one thing we need to change. We need to take that money we pay and use it for infrastructure. We need more police and other services instead of ads to bring more people here that were already coming here. We need to raise salaries of police and fire fighters so we can attract more of them to come here.
I want everyone in the city to feel like they are part of what goes on, and not being used for the taxes they pay. I want to encourage small businesses to come here instead of pushing them out for the profit of greedy politicians and developers. I want developers to pay impact fees for every property they develop and not just water and sewer. Let them pay for our roads that are impacted by their developments. Let them contribute to better police and fire coverage. Let them pay for schools and other things a growing city needs. Why should the taxpayers be footing the bills so developers can reap huge profits to line their pockets with and buy off politicians with? Get rid of the chamber of commerce’s profiteering from taxes that should be benefiting the people. Ask why the president of the chamber makes $378,000 a year. In fact the total for all the top chamber people is over $1.2 million in salaries. Talk about a waste.
We need to come back to reality here in Myrtle Beach. It is time for “We the people” to take back our government at every level from all those profiting off our taxes. Let’s make what they do totally transparent so we the people are in control again. Let’s make them work for us for a change and not themselves and the few who pay them off. “We the people” need to stand up and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
That is why I am running for the City Council. I have a simple slogan I AM THE CANDIDATE FOR WE THE PEOPLE.
Stuart Behar’s by line tells who Stuart is, that he moved to SC from Los Angeles to escape the leftist regime in California, where he was born. And that he has written over 3,000 poems and published five books, including one book of poems entitled Reflections of the Spirit. Stuart emphasizes his mission is to reach people with the message to save America from the sewer it is becoming. That’s why Stuart is running for office and we back those who want America First.
We at The Standard wish Stuart the very best in his run to help government better in his part of the world. We’ve all got to do that where we live. It is an American tradition and duty to challenge those who are in government for self serving reasons. Self enrichment off the backs of hard working citizens is Not the goal of public service. Public office is a ministry and it is called that in many other British based countries.
Thomas Jefferson said wisely “the government that governs least, governs best.” To that we concur.

Wow that is beautiful. Thank you for this, I appreciate it more than you know
