As much as newspapers, magazines and various publications seek to bring accuracy and the truth to the public, at times that jewel escapes the fact checkers. An error was reported in an article written by Freddy Hill published January 5, 2022, in The Standard concerning Critical Race Theory and Lexington District 2.

The article contained inaccurate, incomplete and/or misleading information, and was immediately removed from the website and any and all other platforms of The Standard when notified.

Although we make every effort to assure accurate information is published, sometimes errors do occur. We regret and apologize for the error.

In a note to The Standard, Superintendent of Lexington District Two Schools, Dr. Nicolas Wade, stated that the District is “not in the midst of incorporating, let alone exploring, critical race theory to be embedded into our school system. Our curriculum is set in accordance with SC Department of Education standards.” We thank Dr. Wade for bringing this to our attention.
