Americans have recently witnessed a great contrast of what the Second Amendment means to the safety, security and self protection of our citizenry. It couldn’t be more clear.
Over an Hour
Look at the murder rampage that took place at a public school in Uvalde, Texas, that had a No Gun policy for the school and plenty of police on hand. The incident left 19 innocent boys and girls, and two teachers dead. What a tragedy! What needless loss of the children and teachers!
The saddest aspect of the murder rampage was that 376 local, state and federal police agencies were there at the school on site, and could not, perhaps rather would not stop one apparently deranged man from shooting and murdering innocent life! Why not?
Why couldn’t over 300 trained police stop the slaughter of 21 innocents when they were on the scene for over an hour? It can be argued that if that’s the kind of police agency personnel a locality has no thanks, perhaps we don’t need Uvalde type cops at all! Maybe we just need more responsible citizens with guns!

And that brings up Greenville Park Mall in Indiana where one hero with a gun saved the day in 15 seconds! Yes, sadly three innocent people were murdered by the gunman, but a good guy with a legally carried firearm prevented much more loss of life.
Police agencies typically brag that they are only minutes away. That may be fine if you’re reporting a crime where the perpetrator is already gone, but that’s way too long to prevent tragedy when it’s taking place in front of your eyes! Armed citizens or teachers are always on the scene and can prevent murder or injury as it may be happening long before police can even get there. Which makes the armed citizen the best and most logical solution.
American citizens are not stupid, incapable or incompetent. They can properly handle firearms, especially with training and practice. Plus many citizens are already formally trained ex-military or police.
Representative Stewart Jones, R-House District 14, had this to say, “Every day law abiding firearm owners act quickly to defend innocent life, regardless if main stream media reports it or not. This is another example [Greenville Park Mall] of a good guy with a gun quickly stopping a bad guy with a gun.
“We passed Constitutional Carry in the SC House this last session – however it did not get through the Senate. The pressure will now be on the SC Senate to pass it in the upcoming session as they will be up for re-election.
“It is critical that the legislature passes Constitutional Carry in both chambers and it is signed into law by the Governor in the upcoming session so that South Carolinians can act quickly to defend themselves and others in the same scenarios, just as Eli Dicken did recently.”
A citizen with a firearm could have easily prevented most every shooting crime in America perpetrated by mentally unstable and deranged people in just about every school and shopping mall since they started doing so back in the 1990s. I don’t ever recall hearing of a school or mall shooting before that. In fact schools used to teach kids about firearms and train them in public schools. I should know, my high school had firearms training classes, and many of my teachers carried firearms—-men and women.
Indiana’s passage of Constitutional Carry became effective July first this year. The passage of the law saved untold lives within days of its implementation. How many more will be saved in the days, months and years to come just for the sheer fact that bad guys won’t even try to cause a problem for fear of armed citizens defending themselves and others?
The mental aspect of being shot is in the minds of criminals. They like shooting unarmed people, but somehow don’t like being shot back at by armed citizens! In fact interviews with prisoners convicted of violent crimes said they weren’t afraid of the legal system. The only thing they were ‘afraid’ of was being shot in the commission of their crimes!
Representative Ryan McCabe, R-House District 96, said, “I support constitutional carry. Unfortunately, the Democrats and a large number of Republicans are opposed to constitutional carry. In the last session, we made an attempt to get constitutional carry passed. Unfortunately, less than a majority of the South Carolina House of Representatives believe in the Second Amendment.”
My father was a sniper and sniper instructor for the US Army in Vietnam in the 1960s. He trained many men in the military and my whole family in the proper handling and use of firearms. He used an old Maxim that “an armed society is a polite society”. He knew first hand the effectiveness of firearms in stopping bad guys and communists.
A friend said his FFL is also the range instructor for the local LE. He said most LEO only have a 27% hit rate on target. That’s not under stress, just trying to hit a target that’s not shooting back!
Newly elected representative for House District 85, Jay Kilmartin, said, “Along with being pro concealed carry, I am for constitutional carry. I found out during firearms training by a highly trained Sheriff’s Deputy that most cops are not “gun guys” or even study tactical situations. They do just enough to pass their training. Looking at the 22-year-old in Indiana, it’s obvious he took his training very seriously, perhaps more seriously than the whole Uvalde police department. I urge everyone who carries to constantly train, train and train—-Police and citizens alike.”
In the opinion of this writer the answer to criminals and communists are more Kyle’s with AR-15s and more Elisjsha’s with Glock 9mms. They were fully trained and prepared to defend their community and fellow citizens from bad guys doing bad things. These are the type behaviors that deserve a Presidential Medal of Freedom, not advocates for trans behavior or a movie actress!
Bad guys are depending on bad government disarming people so their destruction and murder will be easy with nobody shooting back. That’s the Bolshevik style!
And yes, in case you haven’t been paying attention the criminals creating terror at malls and schools believe they are in gun free zones and won’t face any armed response. Outlawing “gun free zones” and not prohibiting citizen self defense anywhere would also probably stop most shooters.
Other ideas on preventing bad guys having free run to murder and destroy would be for media not to glorify and give recognition to thugs and criminals. Many are only looking for their minute of fame. Another idea would be public hangings on court House steps for those who do commit public shootings in schools, malls or anywhere else.
Finally, too much partisan politics may be causing the death of citizens by preventing a citizen from defending his own life and that of others through constitutional carry. I urge all citizens to contact your state representative and state Senator and ask them to pass constitutional carry with no restrictions of any kind, including time or place to carry. That will go a long way in stopping the bad guys and enabling the good guys to defend themselves and their community.
