10 Dr. Seuss Books That Stand The Test Of Time
Dr. Seuss, whose real name is Theodor Geisel, leads the way with popular children’s books. In fact ‘The Cat in the Hat’ is number nine on the all time favorite list of children’s books.

We have just learned that the PC Police have now cornered the sly, sultry, and silly writer of popular children’s books and labeled him as a, you guessed it, a “racist“! Yes, the ole ‘Cat in the Hat’ author himself has been outed by the “cancel culture” crowd, and they have finally snagged their culprit—the notorious Dr. Seuss! Ironically, he was one of their own, an “adamant civil rights activist and supporter of liberal Democrats.”

Anybody who hasn’t strictly lived in a fish tank since the late 1930’s has probably read a copy of the first Dr. Seuss book, ‘And to Think that I Saw It on Mulberry Street‘. Or perhaps they have read any number of his many books, or even the “banned” books, but (tongue-in-cheek) don’t let anybody know if you have! The “banned” books (with words in the link) are: ‘And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street,” “If I Ran the Zoo,” “McElligot’s Pool,” “On Beyond Zebra!,” “Scrambled Eggs Super!,” and “The Cat’s Quizzer” which the Dr. Seuss Enterprises company say are due to “hurtful and wrong” language and imagery. The words are included because I could not find any “hurtful and wrong” words.

Chopsticks are listed as one of the Greatest Inventions in Chinese History. if Chinese want to eat with something else they do so without prompting. Someone seems to be denigrating the Chinese people for their cultural choices.

Yep, the family owned company bowed to pressure from “a panel of experts, including educators” who spoke of “strong racial undertones” stopped the presses on a series of cultural classics which helped millions of kids learn to read, and probably nobody ever became a nasty ole “racist” because of it. That, despite what social justice warriors say about any “jarring racial stereotype” they see lurking behind a tree drawing pictures of Chinese people eating with chopsticks.

My question: Haven’t the Chinese people traditionally eaten with chopsticks?

Chopsticks are recognized as one of the Greatest Inventions in Chinese History, and most people have a difficult time using them! Kudos to them for preserving their culture! Meanwhile everybody in the world ridicules the current USA Marxist takeover of “men without stomach’s” not knowing who they are or where we came from in our own culture, kowtowing to everybody else’s desire to rule over us! Americans have surrendered our culture to everybody from every country in the world, many people who we opened the door to since 1965 when Democrat President Lyndon Baines Johnson changed the immigration laws to favor everybody in the world except northwestern European stock of whom the majority US citizens at that time were descendants, and which were the founding stock of people who settled this country.

The criticism of Dr. Seuss appears to come from a politically motivated Massachusetts librarian who assented to leftist activist demands and “rejected then-First Lady Melania Trump’s donation of 10 Dr. Seuss books as part of National Read a Book Day” in 2017. The activists preach that race is a “social construct”.

A Chinese Boy Who Eats With Sticks

The Chinese invented chopsticks and it is recognized as a great tool around the world. Why anyone would feel demeaned by the mention of chopsticks would indicate some sort of embarrassment at their native culture, and for no reason. Everybody has a native culture according to where they are from and their ethnic background, nothing to be ashamed of there.

Next, they’ll be coming for Fran Allison of Kookla, Fran and Ollie fame! By goodness, where does it end, or does it?

No! It never ends as long as the psycho PC multi-cultured ‘everybody the same no difference’ perverted sicko brains of the totalitarian left are in charge! How in the world did we ever survive “racist” ole Dr. Seuss and his books!? How did we ever think that there are different races of people, with different cultures and different talents, abilities, and gifts—geez how did we survive before the Commie PC Police showed up?!

Somehow, ole Dr. Seuss managed to write books that were popular—and sold 700 million copies world-wide! In fact, Dr. Seuss is so popular that in the ten days since the company announced it was removing six titles they have sold over 1.2 million copies! On top of that they were translated into a multitude of languages other than English, like French, Chinese, Swedish, and even Braille, and get this—they became best sellers in those countries too! Imagine that? Dr. Seuss was such a deceptive “racist” that he somehow fooled all those people of other countries into believing it was ok to read his dastardly books and enjoy them! How dare he! He must have been a ‘master racist’!

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” — Dr. Seuss

Along the way all the children who had been used to reading by the “whole word” or “Look Say” method of the  “Dick and Jane” book series began to read the “Cat in the Hat” which showed up at home or at their school reading rack.

“How did it get so late so soon” — Dr. Seuss

The American Library Association and many of their librarians have been on the fore front of the progressively more liberal and leftist movement. Thus, the Massachusetts librarian who rejected then First Lady Melania Trump’s book contribution empowered or perhaps aided the social reconstructionists in changing America.

I was never a big fan of the author, but the idea of Dr. Seuss and his books being worthy to be censored as “racist” and inappropriate for children—or anybody—to read is the height of infantilism and pure ludicrosity, and beyond the pale. Especially since there are such vulgar and vile rappers, what I call rap crap, in the US who have been banned by countries around the world for their vulgar and inappropriate lyrics, and their crude gyrations, and yet in America they get free play. And, the incredibly inappropriate LGBTQ books targeted at young children like “Heather Has Two Mommies” and thousands more that are available in most public school libraries. Why are these perverted selections ok, but Dr. Seuss is “racist”, “hurtful and wrong”, and somehow dangerous?

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” — Dr. Seuss

This same librarian group ALA and Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) voted unanimously to rename the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award. The Standard reported that the ALSC, a division of the American Library Association (ALA), voted at a meeting in New Orleans to remove the name of Laura Ingalls Wilder from a children’s book award named for her due to her portrayals of American Indians (particularly of the Osage Indian tribe) as particularly brutal.

The Dr. Seuss books are filled with creativity, positive ideas and stories taken directly from the author’s life and experiences. His books also have lots of clever and wise quotations, some of which have been laced throughout this article and some which follow.

  • “You’re off to great to places. Today is your day. Your mountain is waiting. So get on your way.” — Dr. Seuss
  • “only you can control your future.” — Dr. Seuss
  • “Nothing is going to change, unless someone does something soon.” — Dr. Seuss

While Dr. Seuss was an admitted leftist and used political imagery in his work, that’s acceptable in a Republic of Liberty. Ideas have consequences, and while some ideas and words are destructive to your well being, others, like those of Dr. Seuss challenge your thinking because, as he says, “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. You are the guy who’ll decide where to go.”
