I am hearing a lot about SC politics and it is all dirty. The dirt is not only coming from the Democrats, the worst of it is coming from the Republicans.
Yes you heard right. The corruption is coming from the top down in SC. Even the Lt. Governor is part of it apparently. The county GOP parties are being taken down if they go against the good ole boy establishment, and being replaced by people put in place by the SC state chairman. This is being done without following any rules or bylaws. These people have no interest in what the people of SC want, only what the would-be kings in Columbia want.
The other issue is none of this can be adjudicated in the courts since the courts are “owned” by the establishment in SC. Judges are not elected they are appointed by the same people involved in the corruption.
So where is all this coming from? Since I am new to South Carolina I do not know all the players or where the skeletons are. However in the short time I have been observing the goings on of the so-called Republicans that want their way only, I can say it is disgusting to watch. So I will start where I came in in January of 2022. That is when I joined the Horry County GOP because I wanted to get involved with people of like-mind to mine. However it later became apparent that there was trouble in paradise.
In June we had the primary which for all intents and purposes was already decided by the power grabbers. Russell Fry became the poster child for the party and he was, I guess, anointed to win the nomination to run for the congressional seat of Tom Rice who became hated when he voted to impeach Trump. And of course Fry won. Then in September the leadership of the Horry County GOP were condemned by the good ole’ boys led by Republican Party Chairman Drew McKissick.
“Why?” you might ask. Because they had the nerve to put up a resolution with regard to the voting machines used in the elections. It was obvious that this infuriated McKissick and others because as we now know votes were not being counted honestly. If you think only the Democrats do this, you and all of us were obviously wrong. It looks like elections in SC are being manipulated for the people in power to remain in power.
In a meeting in Columbia our leadership was condemned by McKissick and others. When they came back out of frustration they all resigned effective Sept. 30th 2022. However after thinking about it our chairman Roger Slagle (still the official chairman) rescinded his resignation along with our Secretary and Treasurer. The Vice-Chair did not resign and our state Executive Committeeman finally just threw her hands in the air and left after the crowd kept screaming for blood.
This was on Sept. 26th, four days before the resignations officially took effect.
Based on the bylaws and all the other rules this was allowed. However Drew decided this was not okay with him and had a group consisting of many of our Executive Committeemen and Reese Boyd and others form a new HCGOP against all the rules. They held elections of officers without a quorum, which makes it completely bogus and not official. Yet they pushed ahead with the graces of McKissick without regard for any rules. They keep using the name, which they were given a cease and desist order to stop using. All the while McKissick sanctioned their group without authority to do so.
The bottom line here seems to be that SC is corrupted by people who do not have the understanding, nor do they care, of what the people want. They don’t ask, they tell, and the lemmings follow them blindly over the cliff of unreality.
The main reason they are doing this is to take away the power of the people by destroying the dissenting county groups who oppose their power and corruption. They have already made those moves in Horry, Greenville, and other counties. Little by little they are taking over, and unless the County Executive Committeemen stop them, they will own all the counties. They have used treachery on every level and will continue until we can stop them.
We in the Horry County GOP are fighting them in court. However like I said, the judges are appointed by these same power grabbers and not elected, so they owe no allegiance to the people, only those in charge.
With our fearless chairman and others in the group we will continue to fight their contempt for the people. However we need the people of SC to join us in the fight. For those in Horry County come join us, the official HCGOP. Do not be taken in by people in the other group who are lackeys for the power grabbers.
We need you the people of SC to stand with what is right for all, not what is desired by the good ole’ boys in Columbia. We need you because if we do not win, everyone will be under the thumb of corrupt politicians. These folks have no scruples and show it.
We the people need to stand up to them. If you think only the corrupt Democrats are bad, the Republicans may be worse in SC. We are the bluest red state in America. We cannot fight the left if the people we believe are for the people, are only for themselves. There is nothing worse than the treachery of people we believe are for us when they are only for themselves.
We can no longer have apathy about what is going on. This is real, and very dangerous to the rights and freedoms of us all. Stand up and be counted, or lay down and be trampled. It’s up to you.
