Lift up a standard for the people
The Standard newspaper has a purpose for our existence. That purpose is to present news and information that will help each individual and their family make better decisions based on truth and accurate facts. In addition to news, The Standard will present ideas through opinion and commentary that we hope to challenge your thinking to higher levels.
That said, The Standard has a motto in the form of a Bible verse that describes our purpose: to challenge our readers to higher levels of thinking by lifting up a standard. The motto is an abbreviated verse from that below:
“Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.” — Isaiah 62:10
If we “Lift up a standard for the people” we will raise the level of expectation and actuality for all of us.
