Are we becoming PC-whipped?

“A new mandatory, $23 million “anti-bias” program is training New York City school teachers to discriminate against white children,” reports Simon Black after a middle school teacher recounted how the training encourages educators to become “liberated” from their “whiteness”. One instructor “defined ‘racial equality’ as favoring non-white students over white students, regardless of any other circumstances.”

In another “re-education” session for NYC school superintendents, attendees were asked to describe an experience that mandated social justice. After describing his family’s plight during the Holocaust and in Nazi concentration camps, a high-ranking school official who was white and Jewish faced the wrath of his own colleagues. “This is not about being Jewish! This is about black and brown boys of color only!” a woman screamed at him. “You’d better check yourself!”

For the prominently-paranoid PC police, everything is a potential threat. After 74 years, the Christmas classic, “Baby It’s Cold Outside” was suddenly discovered to have a “rapey” vibe and  consigned to broadcast oblivion.

“I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” was chopped because it could traumatize children. Though voted the best Christmas song of all time, the iconic Irish classic “Fairytale of New York” was similarly silenced for too many “offensive words” that somehow went unremarked for 70 years.

Sleeping Beauty is among those movies that is now politically incorrect. Perhaps those people of the allegorical ‘Sleeping Beauty’ will awaken from their slumber before it’s too late. Photo: Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty

Remember those popcorn favorites, Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast? Or dog-eared classics like the adventures of Little Red Riding Hood and Sleeping Beauty? “Children of the future will know no such pleasure. There will be no Sleeping Beauty awakened from her slumber by a prince’s non-consensual kiss,” RT comments on the banishment of such essential children’s stories from freedom land.

How about “those exciting Halloween nights, dressing up as witches and wizards, or re-imagining yourself as a beautiful Pocahontas for the evening” while scarfing the evening’s loot.

You already know the punch line.

It seems that along with their more dreadful faults, witches have become “culturally offensive”, revealing a culture determined not to look at the Shadow Side it perpetually projects and attacks. Never mind how much curiosity and empathy is fostered among children otherwise condemned to an homogenized existence. Costumes depicting characters from all “minority backgrounds” are now verboten.

And will radical feminists claim victory, now that the word “women” has become “racist” and “transphobic”?

Don’t even mention white guys. A 22-year old female student has reported her business professor to U, of Utah administrators for assigning “too many” historical texts written by male economists, such as Adam Smith, Milton Friedman and Friedrich Hayek.

MEME RAIDERS

Chicago-Area high schools are paying from $22,000 to $50,000 to reprint yearbooks scrubbed of photographs showing students flashing the “OK” sign with thumb and forefinger joined, after the game was subsequently co-opted by white supremacists to melt snowflakes.

Walter Payton College Prep principal Tim Devine wrote to students, parents and faculty explaining that while “there is no reason to believe” flashing OK “was anything but innocent fun” – students should not be exposed to “potential targeting” for playing the Circle Game “seen on many campuses this year, including ours.”

The trolls who morphed this meme are beside themselves with glee. Expect further cultural monkey-wrenching momentarily.

“Those who seem to have literally lost their minds… wish to institutionalize the remainder of the sane population,” agonizes Robert Bridge. “The world of academia could use a heavy dose of George Carlin,” he continues, “who once described political correctness as nothing more than ‘fascism pretending to be manners’. PC thought thugs are attempting to superimpose their bold designs on humanity without any input from the rest of society.”

WHY NOW?

Why are we so suddenly being subjected to such vicious and nonsensical memes of gender, race and political intolerance?

It seems almost orchestrated.

And what the heck does Jordan Peterson mean by “Cultural Marxism”? How is Cultural Marxism different from Marxist Marxism? And why does any Marxist mishmash matter today?

I decided to investigate.

This 6-part series is the result.

DIVIDE IS THE RULE

For all our supposed smarts, humans remain firmly perched atop the gullabilty tree. For as long as a few have been exploiting the many, our story-driven world has been continuously derailed by false “Us Versus Them” narratives favoring “divide-and-rule” bankers, mega-weapons corporations and their political cronies. The Deep State’s deepest fear is that everyone will realize we’re being played, suggests Jim Quinn. “But they don’t believe there is a chance in hell of this happening.

So far, they’re right.

“We are living in a world that is more divided, there’s more individualist thinking in relation to what is happening and less empathy, less hope,” co-laments David Isaac, chair of Britain’s Equality and Human Rights Commission. Isaac futilely urges us to look beyond “what works for me and my narrow group.”

Even turf-defending PC adherents are willing to form blocs, “as long as everyone perceives themselves to be victims of the same power structures, or feels guilt for enforcing them,” comments Igor Ogorodnev. Identity politics is actually “a coherent political movement with a radical agenda to destroy Western society as it exists,” insists this Russian-British journalist.

THE BIG SECRET

In resurrecting and redirecting failed Marxist class struggle from economic inequality to everything inequality, Cultural Marxists (who may not even know that term) are deploying identity politics as a social wrecking ball. This is made easy when a culture of credulous addicts becomes its own simulation and begins consuming itself. The result of all this shouting? An increasingly fractured tribalism, whose adherents are judged by the characteristics they are born with, or choose. Not by what anyone contributes to the betterment of all life.

The blackbirds feeding outside my window daily demonstrate how hierarchies have been the overarching social organization since the strong first elbowed aside females, their young and the timid at the feeding trough.

But not for long. In the end, every species but ours knows we’re in this together.  I have also watched dominant daddy birds thrust food down thier kid’s gullet. And a blackbird spouse whap her greedy mate upside the head.

Skip biology. (If you can.) With white male hominids coming under increasing fire for the egregious and perceived sins of our forefathers, proponents of identity politics “actively attack these foundations of modern Western societies as complacent white inventions that must be swept away for the greater good,” RT explains.

ANOTHER PENNY DROPS

Groucho Marx

When it comes to ensuring our all-inclusive extinction in the face of converging natural, nuclear and dystopian catastrophes, author, Eleanor Penny urges: “All politics is identity politics – and it’s time to pick a side.

The resulting turmoil helps… whom?

Achieve… what?

THE OTHER MARX’S

“Before WWI, Marxist theory held that if war broke out in Europe, the working classes would rise up against the bourgeoisie and create a communist revolution,” recites David Galland. “Well, as is the case with much of Marxist theory, things didn’t go too well. When war broke out in 1914, instead of starting a revolution, the proletariat put on their uniforms and went off to war.”

(The managing director of Casey Research doesn’t add that the Russian peasantry didn’t enjoy industrial-scale murder much, and went home before the real slaughter got going – an example of mass common sense as yet unheeded by Patriotically Correct inductees, who after decades of commiting and witnessing horrors in distant neighborhoods continue killing themselves once every 63-minutes.)

The two main Marxists of that time – Antonio Gramsci and Georg Lukács – independently concluded that the working class had been duped by the blandishments of Western democracy and capitalism, which rewards individual talent and drive while exploiting everyone else.

“They reasoned that until both had been destroyed, a communist revolution was not possible,” Galland explains.

Mussolini, inventor and ardent practitioner of modern fascism, was unimpressed. Gramsci died in one il Duce‘s prisons.

The perennial question remained: How to subjugate everybody? Even better, how to get everyone to subjugate themselves?

“LIBERATION” AS CULTURAL SUBVERSION

 Georg Lukács

Georg Lukács in Budapest

Like others before and after him, Lukács realized that if family and sexual morals were eroded, societies could be snapped like rotten sticks. By targeting children’s minds, his program of “cultural terrorism” encouraged impressionable kids “to deride and reject Christian ethics.”

Their “liberation” was expedited by presenting “graphic sexual material” and extolling kiddies to engage in “loose sexual conduct” as soon as they were able. When parents came for Lukács, the Hungarian fled to Germany.

In Frankfurt, Lukács fell in with young, wealthy Felix Weil, whose new Marxist think tank – the Institute for Social Research – began mixing Sigmund Freud and Karl Marx in 1930.

Cultural Marxism was born in Germany. Right alongside National Socialism.

MASKING THE NEW MARXISM

“In classical Marxism, the workers of the world were oppressed by the ruling classes. The new theory was that everyone in society was psychologically oppressed by the institutions of Western culture,” David Galland explains.

When the Nazis seized power in 1933, “it was a bad time and place to be a Jewish Marxist.” So the school of cultural terrorism relocated to the world’s hub, New York City.

In 1934, the anti-culture cabal was reborn as the Frankfurt School at Columbia U. Its first popularly-published meme, Critical Theory, criticized “every pillar of Western culture – family, democracy, common law, freedom of speech, and others. The hope was that these pillars would crumble,” Galland writes.

The Authoritarian Personality condemned traditional views on gender roles and sexual mores as “prejudice”. Even “fascist”. Social history and reality were reshaped into an unending saga of evil tyrants and hapless victims. And so we find “programable” PC’ers mouthing the same f-word against their opponents today.

Though reality continued to resist, the Frankfurters insisted that “female” and “male” were defined by white male “oppressors”. They also insisted that gender does not really exist, but is merely a “social construct”.

Sound familiar?

What other ideas were being floated in the Riech in 1934?

MARCUSE MAKES A MESS

In 1955 fellow Frankfurter, Herbert Marcuse published Eros and Civilization.

This widely popular tract whined that Western culture was inherently repressive because it failed to focus on encouraging everyone in the herd to contentedly graze on whatever emotionally-charged beliefs made them happiest.

Bertrand de Jouvenel warned, “A society of sheep must in time beget a government of wolves.” Except real wolves don’t prey on people.

Calling for extra helpings of Freud’s “polymorphous perversity,” Marcuse urged creative carnal fun outside “traditional norms”. Galland reports that Eros and Civilization “largely shaped” the 1960s sexual revolution.

Wailing against the “establishment” of which he was a beneficiary, Marcuse envisioned a victim coalition of marginalized blacks, women, homosexuals, and others-as-yet-undefined to replace comatose Joe Sixpack as unwitting vanguards of the newly-reconstituted Marxist revolution.

His follow-on book, the oxymoronic Repressive Tolerance, somehow insisted that valuing varying values and perspectives “represses” “correct” ideas. “By exposing the futility of victimhood as a way of life,” he was careful not to add.

Instead, the social theorist doubled down, calling for total intolerance of any viewpoint not held by one’s self-identified tribe. A half-century on, trying to identify proliferating identity booby-traps in an increasingly contentious USA is impossible without the latest PC app. The slightest slip and campus mobs begin to form.

Who does this favour?

Always eager to co-opt a populist trend, the U.S. political establishment has “fully embraced the ideas of the Frankfurt School” and “pushed them on American society” through public brainwashing in 24/7 media and classrooms. Raising unpleasant reminders of master-manipulators as influential as Hillary’s Russiagate, Ed Bernays’ Propaganda, and the University of Chicago’s fascistic neocons and their Project For A New American Century – the ever-gallant Galland reminds us that “Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, are both disciples of Saul Alinsky, a devoted cultural Marxist.”

IDENTITY WARS

Manipulating the masses into fearing each other instead of their masters is as old as the first tribal strongmen locking up communal grain to “keep it safe”.

Some time later…

“Identity Politics has set men, women, blacks, Jews, Asians, Hispanics, and white people against one another,” wryly observes Paul Craig Roberts. “With the creation of ‘new’ but otherwise nonexistent ‘genders’, we witness radical feminists being silenced by men pretending to be women.”

Why are so many so eagerly participating in their own repression just to feel “connected”, distracted and defensively righteous?

RISE OF THE VICTIMHOOD CULTURE

Those taught to identify with the exciting and inclusive culture of victimhood “see themselves as fighting oppression, and even minor offenses can be worthy of attention and action. Slights, insults, and sometimes even… evidence might further victimize an oppressed group,” associate professor of sociology Bradley Campbell comments. “Being recognized as a victim conveys social status. One deserves special consideration and assistance.

“It is an increasingly easy way to punish adversaries and gain social status by signalling one’s own virtue,” and to “take offense and report incidents to authorities,” adds colleague Jason Manning.

“Insistence on trans ‘rights’ over social norms as old as bonobos can become a form of social control when ‘microaggression complainants’ insist that all perceived offenses are part of a larger pattern of injustice and that those who suffer them are socially marginalized and deserving of sympathy.”

And so, as political intolerance wages ever-shifting emotional war on logic, reason, families and communities, “we now live in a hyper-sensitive society in which social memes and feelings have overtaken biological and objective reality as the main determinants of right and wrong.
